SBDC sponsors workshop on Image Savvy Business Strategies - November 13, 2008
Paula Mahony recently delivered the marketing message in a workshop sponsored by the SBDC. The workshop focused on the advantages of getting professional experience and advice to develop your brand and marketing messages. Also participating in the workshop were David Sliwinski of Fulcrum Digital Media, Becky Stockbridge of iBec Creative and Kathleen Kelly of Kathleen Kelly Photography.
Words@Work helps FOKO attract new audience - October 2008
It was "pipes in the park" at lunchtime for the week leading up to the recent silent film concert put on by Friends of the Kotzschmar Organ. Paula Mahony and an inflatable pipe organ sidekick spent the lunch hour in Post Office Park to create energy and interest in the concert among passersby. FOKO was pleased with the turnout to Friday night's performance and noted all the new faces among regular attendees.
Words @ Work assists local fire officials and LaPlante Electric spread the word about winter electrical hazards.
Statistics indicate an alarming increase in the number of household fires caused by faulty electrical systems or wiring. Words @ Work recommended a series of articles based on the specific concerns of local fire officials to be published in local community newspapers. The articles were published on the electrician's name as author but did not make any sales pitch for business. The purpose of the project was to build visibility and community partnership.
SBDC sponsors Workshop on Professional Collateral Materials Jan. 19 2007
Approximately 21 small manufacturers from all across Maine recently attended a workshop to learn about the value of professional collateral materials. The workshop featured Paula Mahony, President of Words @ Work and Joan Jordan of Joan Jordan Design. Sponsored by the SBDC, this workshop was designed to help manufacturers planning to attend wholesale workshops in the coming months.
Paula Mahony addresses Greater Deering Business Network
Paula Mahony, President of Words @Work was the featured speaker at the January meeting of the Greater Deering Business Network. The topic of her presentation was Strategic Marketing Planning for a Successful 2007.

The Greater Deering Business Network is a neighborhood business organization founded in September, 2006 with the intent to build community partnership in the Greater Deering area of Portland, Maine.
Words @ Work puts Giroux Oil on the Biofuel map.
With an attention-grabbing press release coyly poking fun at OPEC, W @ W was able to entice camera crews from two Portland area TV stations to cover the first home delivery of Biofuel in the greater Portland area. Clips ran on the evening news in the 6pm time slot and in one case, continued to run every 30 minutes until the 11pm update was aired.
Maine Marketing Association Fall Conference
10/17/06: Right On! Staying On Message No Matter What: Crafting and Communicating Effective Messages That Will Break Through the Clutter Paula Mahony, President of Words @ Work joined Rich Brooks of Flyte New Media and Keynote speaker Roy Heffley of Bob Mooney Communications in a panel discussion on how to develop effective messaging to break through the clutter in today's advertising world.
